Its Halloween tonight & Diwali tomorrow... may be we can carve a pumpkin & blow it up with chocolate bombs?! Oh Happy Days to all ye who entered!

I've been thinking...

...yes, I do that - SOMETIMES! Anyway, in no particular order here are some of my thoughts...

1. Why the fuckeroonie couldn't I be a student today, and spend the day at home faffing, instead of coming here to work to do the exact same thing! A little rain (ok a lot more than usual) threw the city into a frenzy... and of course the media really went to town with the whole thing - what was that all about? Sad to see a certain newspaper going cuckoo with its recent headlines - I mean, which smart ass gets to write the headline huh?? Spazolas I tell ya!

2. In the recent couple of months I've realised how many "things" yes worldly goods I WANT! First came the washing maching, then the fridge (which was group effort, and of course a must have), and now the new cell phone! Well it was long pending - not that I'd ever considered upgrading the old one (which was my most precious possession) until it refused to come back to life! Which is closely related to my next thought...

3. Sometimes in order to break ties - completely - I think it may be important to give up/ destroy/ or simply not use something that reminds you of the tie-breaker! It has worked in the past when an anklet I used wear broke, and soon enough I realised that months went by without a thought of him! I'm not sure if it will work again tho', 'coz with this tie-breaker I somehow always find something to cling too! Tho' the phone is out of the way, last night I dug out an old kurta to sleep in!! *shake my own head in disapproval*

4. The effort I put in at the gym on the in-between days that I do go there, will be of no use if I :
  • don't go 4 days a week!
  • continue to drink obscene amounts of beer
  • eat rice for dinner (even) like a south indian when really I grew up on bread/ roti's for dinner... dinner was a light meal, not an "oh my god I'm starving" pig out session!
  • make angry faces at my gym instructor and make him feel bad that my muscles are aching! (This happens everytime I got back after long breaks! ... preparing for it today!)

5. Tho' I often whine about being single, presently I'm quite happy on my own, considering the rapid increase in the rate of deterioration of relationships in the world around me. I also wonder could distance make the heart grow fonder? Or are you simply tempted to stray?

You can run, but you can never hide!

...from gym instructors!! Yep, we reached Gokarna safe & sound, and enjoyed the sun (whatever little of it!), sand, rain & waves! Loving every moment ... and then guess who shows up! MY GYM INSTRUCTORS!!!! Was hilarious! They must've been saying to themselves, "ah thats why she's been asking for extra ab-workouts! Hee hee ha ha ha!!!"

Anyway, trip was awesome! Lots of swimming and seafood and smokes and beer! And met new people, and played Shit-Head! All in all a sooper trip!

Going Om!

Am soooo excited about my trip to the sea tomorrow. Will be there till Sunday night. I'm trying to do some research on the weather forecast, but can't seem to get much info. Guess thats the small beach town phenomenon... even the weatherman hasn't visited off late!

Sadly, its going to be crowded I'm sure - long weekend. The season has begun. Anyway I read something on another blog that put the exact thoughts that I've had into words, everytime I talk about Gokarna... sense of guilt that I have indeed betrayed it! Read on... Rolf Potts' Vagabonding.

Will you still love me tomorrow?

10 things that made this weekend funny, drunken, disorderly, happy, gloomy:

1. Me at the gym on Saturday evening, cringing at my trainer! After a whole session of floor exercises, and a whole lot of other stuff, he put me on the peddling thing (its my most hated exercise machine) for 6 minutes. I told him only 4 mins, but anyway, he programmed it for 6 and got busy with some others and left. When my personal 4 min. target was up, my legs came to a halt & i stepped off. Was about to start something else, when this other trainer caught me, and gave me this moral lecture on how this was for my own body, blah, blah, blah... and put me back on the machine for 6 mins again!!!!

2. Night out partying.. haven't done that in a while, its been mainly house drinking off late. So it was nice to get out and see how the rest of the city gets their kicks!! Had a great time at Athena, tho I think we wound up quite early I think. No one really had a track of the time. Anyway, there were 8 rather large people stuffed in The Gander's car, and I'm not quite sure how we made it home safe & sound!

3. "6 X 8" ... thats the size of the hole in the wall that we bought some more beers from later that night!!

4. The Viking was here to remind me that I haven't forgotten how to flirt! :o)

5. Carol King singing Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow - forcing me to think about my sorry ass love-life! And making me realise after 3 long years that that stupid line from Love Story - "when you love someone set him free...." is a whole load of bull-shit, because when you do that he's GONE... forever! Aint no coming back and all that crap! So if you love someone, better just sieze his passport, tickets, and probably even plot with the US Embasssy to not give him a frikken 10 year visa!!! ...thats my good advice to anyone in similar situations!

6. Funny how I wished my boss for his birthday coming up later this week. I won't be able to call on the day, so I thought I may as well say it on Saturday... but for some strange reason, I made some really funny faces while saying it... he's touching the first big F! And I couldn't help the smug expression on my face... cracked me up after he left!

7. Smiling with the dried up clay face pack on, and trying not to laugh.

8. Sunday feast last night! Mr.Way and I cooked a pretty fantastic dinner last night. Very yummy Shepherd's Pie; Beef, bacon & chicken mixed grill in pepper & wine gravy; salad; fruit salad; sugar-cane!! Quite unbelievable how we got all of it together all of a sudden! Of course we had The Linguini, Mrs. Tote, Buttox, and Meghs helping us out with the chopping and cleaning!

9. The news of the earthquake was quite scary. These natural disasters have been rather troubling this year. Love and positive vibes to all those in Pakistan, North India, Afghanistan...

10. After a struggling out of bed (feeling those Monday blues), and having a hot hot bath and shampoo, and after drying up, I decided to try what I thought was leave-in conditioner! Felt strange I thought, and looking at the mirror thinking, its not supposed to be sticky! And then i see one tiny little bubble floating away!!! Fuckeroonie... more shampoooooo!!! So got back in and washed my hair by which time the water had run cold!

Anyway, can't be to blue today, after all we're heading to Gok's day after tomorrow!! Thats been distracting me since last week! Cheerses to the shortest work week this year, and also, Happy Puja's / Dasehra to all!

Beach bums...

In what has become my fortnightly blog, cheers to another entry! As much as I hate to admit it, I have become quite busy in this last month, and sadly it actually HAS been work related! In the middle of the real work ruffling me around, I do of course take the time to look up & just stare out the window and close my eyes tight so I see bubbles in my eye-lids! I think this also, keeps me at work longer!! I don't mind... I need these distractions to get me through the day!

The last month has been a lot of travel which I have enjoyed to bits! Bombay was great! Sleepless nights! My Nair Sister-hood! The saxy Sac-in-city!! Lots of sea-food! Lots of beer! And I met a new friend! ...well someone I've been in touch with for a while now - it was nice to meet & have a chat over a couple of beers & sea-food! (I have only recently discovered what a sea-food junkie I am) Well I guess its always nice to meet over beer & sea-food!

Anyway, enough about that! I'll tell you where else I went... Mysore (about 3 or 4 times!), Mangalore (again!), and to God's own country! Kerala is truly beautiful... all the tourist advertising stuff is true it seems! Even though the trip was hectic and we covered 4 cities (Calicut, Thrissur, Cochin & Trivandrum) in 2 days, we got to relax quite a bit (between the work talk) during the long long drives through the state. Very very green and pretty! Yesterday before we left Trivandrum we even drove down to Kovalam (which is about 15 km (or less?) out of Trivandrum, and had lunch by the sea! The Leela Kovalam is just soooo nice!!! sigh... sigh... sigh!!!! Highly recommended ...coz its not AS expensive as most luxury beach resorts... (this is still far from my budgeted travel, of course!) This is when I wish I had a digi-cam, we had lunch by the infinity pool which over looks the ocean, and of course it pained my heart to think I couldn't take a dip!! (Especially since I always carry my swimwear wherever I go... including the Himalayas... where I did indeed go swimming... yup I'll save that for another time!)

Anyway, being so close and yet so far, made me decide (no turning back!) that I am going to the beach next week! And I even bought tickets today!!! So far its us Daffodils again... Mrs. Tote, The Ostrich and me! Not sure if the rest of our fellow beach bums will join us... but that we'll know soon. We're off to our all time favourite beach in the country Gokarna! Well its also one of the cheapest, most relaxing and fun places to go to - and safe too! (Fingers crossed - touch wood! blah! blah! blah!) Well after 5 trips there these last couple of years, this may just be the last one... what with the amount of publicity the town has been getting (and bloody fancy-shmancy hotel thats up!), its not soon that it will go the Goa way... anyway, here's hoping it hasn't already become too crowded!
