We got a ticket to ride!

Finally, finally, finally! Tickets to Goa have been bought... well we still have to get return tkts, but atleast we'll be there for sure! Even more excited now that tickets are in hand! Well I've given up on my quest to lose weight - NO, I'm not saying I'll stop going to the gym, all I'm saying is, "so what if I don't have a bikini-bod! I sure can swim!!...and go skinny too perhaps!"

As per PLAN (rf. post below), I'm pretty much on track - so far, so good! I visited my grans' yesterday - one of them just turned 82, and truly she doesn't look it! She's 5'9" or so (I completely missed the height gene from them), and thanx to her days on the Indian Hockey Team, she's still big and strong! And in her old age, has taken it upon herself to find me a husband!! I think I walked straight into one of her conspiracies, infact, because besides me and her doctor at her party, there was my cousin's in-laws with there single, eligible son!!!! And before I could even sit myself down & relax, The Gran announces that I have asked her to find me a man ...whoa baybeeeeeeeeeee, I didn't know what hit me!!!! So as gracefully as I could (and I don't excel in that department) I said OH NO NO NO!!! Anyway I have no idea if this was part of their plan, or I was over-reacting, anyway, the rest of the lunch went down ok, with a few questions on what I've been doing and a little bit about their OTHER son, who wasn't even at the lunch! So now I'm even more confused...but really I DON'T wanna know! (This IS'NT a part of my PLAN yet - not even the not so immediate part of Plan!)

This weekend we're off to Bombay on work. We'll be there from Sunday - Tuesday. Looking forward to that! Should be a lot of work and a bit of fun too, I hope! Even if there isn't any time to party, I am looking forward to a hot bubble bath ... I was envious off yesterday when I read someone's blog (can't remember who for the life of me!)

Tomorrow's 1 Dec :o) Nothing makes me happier than the month of December! From the time I was a child! It just was a fun time, what with Sports Day and winning shitloads of trophies, and looking forward to the holidays, and Christmas with our cousins, ...blah blah fla fla!!! I don't need to hard-sell December - it just is the best time of the year! And its HERE, already... like I said before so what if I haven't lost an ouce, I'm still thrilled that it's finally here!

Seven of me's

It took a while to realise that I'd been tagged by Sac... so finally here goes:

Seven Things I Plan To Do:
...with immediate effect:-
1. Drink less beer
2. Start putting up Christmas decorations
3. End this year in Goa
4. Take my mum to The Dune in Pondicherry

...not so immediately:-
5. Buy a house
6. Swim with dolphins; and learn to surf; and learn to snorkel
7. Let go of the past ( being a long term plan, the present keeps becoming the past and I get sucked in over & over again!)

Seven Things That I Can Do:
1. Swim like a fish
2. Drink like a fish
3. Do 15 push-ups and not pass out
4. Sing
5. Play Amazing Grace on the trumpet!
6. Cook a damn good meal for many!
7. Actually after #2... I can do almost anything!!!

Seven Things I Can't Do:
1. Keep my cupboard tidy for over a week
2. Bungee jump/ skydive/ parachute... any height related adventure sports
3. Whistle with my fingers
4. Exercise with weights
5. Sleep with the fan off
6. Raise one eyebrow
7. Stop, after drinking 3 Yaakes

Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

...thanx to the Diwali/ Dassehra/ Rajyotsava Day lights that are still up and will stay on till the new year begins! And Bangalore Habba round the corner!

I got my leave sanctioned to spend 4 glorious days in Goa for The Rascal's wedding and New Years Eve! ...provided we manage to get our asses there! This'll be my first NY's eve in "Goa" for grown ups! Spent 4 consecutive NYs there between '88 & '91. Our standard POA was - great food & fire-works at the The Taj Holiday Village, followed by this very GOAN NEW YEARS EVE BALL so to say!!! Imagine hundreds or thousands of jolly drunken aunties & uncles singing and dancing & generally having a good time! Would've been great if I was drunk too, but we were too young to enjoy it and would hide away from any "yeng boys" that might come and ask us to dance! Was at that age when you're shy and really DON'T want to dance with some stranger! I mean now, I'd be so drunken and disorderly that I'd barely even notice someone WAS a stranger!!!!

Anyway, I sure am looking forward to this trip! It'll keep my mind off other worrisome thoughts that may creep into my mind & trouble me.

Till then, it'll be gym, gym, gym!!! ...phew!

New York State of mind!

... yeah, that's what I'm in! I got all dressed up today - little black dress and my new jacket :) No, not the red one, thought I should stick to the sobre dull one instead! Looking quite corporate and all, feeling it too!

Power dressing... hmmm, thats something I thought I'd NEVER do! What with wearing everything from pajamas to little black skirts (when The Man was still around), to my favourite tie-die LUNGI! Yep, and now look at me, even have the pointy toe'd heels on!

So the Linguini was saying I look like I'm straight out of some Manahattan highrise! ... ok, she didn't say Manhattan, she said New York! So now I'm in a New York state of mind!!!

More later, if I have some time! ;o)

Good times...

Before November comes to an end, I thought I'd better find the time for an entry this month! After all, this is one of my most favourite times of the year. The bluest skies and pleasanlty chill air! Time for sweaters and jackets... I just bought 2 at a sale! Don't know how, but Miss Buttocks just manages to find the coolest stuff! Anyway, one is this very loud RED jacket... kinda has a tweed finish... I just HAD TO HAVE IT! Even tho, I knew the reaction I'd get back home... but I think its sooper! Lets hope they let me leave the house in it!

October just flew right past me, and November's flying just as fast and soon Christmas will be here, and I haven't lost a bloody ounce!!! So much for feeling happy with the 3 times a week workout regimen! Penny Lane, I hope you've made progress, coz I sure haven't!! I'm probably just stronger and I'm sure I can run fast and peddle harder and I have more stamina - but those are not the reasons I decided to join the damn gym! So now, I think I will HAVE to control the beer drinking! Its my last chance - December's a fortnight away! And god only knows what it has in store for me - I've always been excited about December... for no particular reason, I promise! Its just festive and cool and there's Opus' 8 Days of Christmas to look forward too! And may be a music video to compliment the Ho! Ho! Ho! Christmas album we recorded last year! Sheesh its been a year since we discovered that I CAN SING! And what a glorious year its been!

I love rambling... blogs are great for that... just type type type.... ramble ramble ramble!

The Rat is here for the weekend, and last night in our drunkenness she insisted on wearing this silver net on her head - first like a veil & then like a hair tie! She's hilarious! Today while I'm here blogging she's home cooking us lunch! Today's not a good day for work. I'm listening to one of my favourite tracks - Good Times by Edie Brickel - I think everyone should listen to it, if only I knew how to post it here! Everyone's in cricket match mood - Go India! Go! I think its goona be a happy drunken Saturday after a very long time!

Sigh... I love blogspot, hope I get to spend more time here more often! Till then, cheerses Fellow Faffers!
