My long over due recap of 2005:
January - woke up with a terrible hangover on the 1st morning! And decided to quit drinking for a month! And what a lousy month to choose! Had 80 bottles of my favourite white wine chilling in my bath tub when we attended a conference in Bombay! There were ~ 5 bars serving the fanciest booze ever! 2 days after the conference I gave in to ALL temptation - 'twas an awesome frikken trip! And the stress of sending a Christmas parcel ( and letter actually) that I decided rather late in the day was a BAD idea! ...it eventually did come back to me due to postal error :o) "...life has a funny way of helping you out!"
February - Work! Walking in the park with The Gander!! Work! Sting! The Viking :o)
March - OH HAPPY DAY... when I was born!!! Had the most insane Pimps & Tarts party to celebrate the life & times of Tartrazina!
April - I begin to BLOG! And how!!!
May - More work! The excitement of my "phoren" holiday... visa issues, ticket issues, travel agents, money changing, travel insurance - driving me round the bend!!! ...the depressing news that I wasn't illegible for a Youth Travel Card! In the middle there was Joe Satriani to cheer me up! And of course some very expensive sms flirting!!! Thought I learnt my lesson... choose an India number over ISD!
June - Hyderabad.... Dubaaaaaaaaiiii..... London!!!! Awesome! Wedding! Nieceling... cousins... family... far away friends... losing money... beer... beer.... beer... Garlic & Shots... Pitcher & Piano... Billy Blues... moroccan bath... desert safari... Buckingham Palace's 25 ft wide gate... FAME!!!!
July - Reality....phew... exhaustion! Sha finally gets through to me and tells me about her Mum... tears... tears... tears... prayers.
August - Really bitten by the travel bug... Calcutta to spend time with Sha & her Ma. Mangalore , Mysore! And then some more Mysore and some more Mysore! Work sure kicked in!
September - the South India extravaganza continues... with a little bit of Bombay thrown in for spice... met my India sms flirt buddy! Damn, thats when I really learnt my lesson.... keep it simple... LOCAL messages ONLY!!!!
October - Work! Gym! Also, some great work travel to God's own country, and ya obviously more MYSORE!!!! Work! Gym! Gokarnaaaaaaaaaaa... finally home... sea-food & beers... Gym! Gym! Gym! Hot & sweaty Tartrazina meets The Viking again... remembers what its like to flirt in real life :o)
November - Coorg was lovely... minus the 5 flat tyres!! Work! Gym! Peaches... the best hair cut I've ever had!!!
December - Now I'm sad its over :o( ...flew right past me. Deserves a special report, so here goes... My most favouritest month of the year began with Christmas carols & some decos & then quickly got over taken by work, travel, family, friends ... all of which was overwhelming! ~ Bombay was better than most trips! ~ Was in close touch with my best friends from school ... Sha, Shruts and KP... prayers and tears and songs and laughter for Aunty Sita who eventually passed away on December 18th. Eventually made it to the funeral which was like no other I've even heard off... everything was perfect. She had a smile on her face as she lay asleep. Was my first ever trip to a crematorium and it sounds ridiculous, but the whole experience was just beautiful... After which we had brunch at The Tolly Club, basking in the sun and remembering the good times. Everything right down to the burying of her ashes was just such an extraordinary experience. Extraordinary woman.
Got back to work with a trip to Hyd enroute to Bangalore... work couldn't have been more hectic at a more inappropriate time! I mean who wants to work when your entire family is at your home for Christmas!!! Anyway, Christmas was awesome thanx to my darling niecling!!! She's just gorgeous... she is! And then we (me and my homies) were off to Goa for The Rascal's Wedding! And, phew..... WHAT A TRIP! Benaulim beach... blisssss.... beers.... sunshine... waves.... tan... skinny dipping... swimming out faaaaaaar... Nine Bar ...Dominiks ... Coco's .... The German ... foot massages ... raver gear .... going commando ... the most awesome rum soaked wedding cake .... whiskey ... dancing like maniacs ... sunset ... dawn .... pink bellied sea-gulls in the morning light .... dolphins ... puppiesssssss .... The Lady & The Tart ... sand ... sea-food.... MY GOD, I couldn't have asked for a better way to end 2005 and start the new one .... sigh...
